SPRING 09BALMANIA....Need I say more? EVERYONE is wearing Balmain, from the fashion magazine editors to Michael Jackson. We are confined, surrounded by these sharp-shouldered creatures.
When Christophe Decarnin basically got Paris partying with his Michael Jackson inspired strong-shouldered jackets in his Spring 09 collection, it was pretty exciting, I can't lie. This collection inspired the 80's comeback of the Fall 09 season, where there are not many collections you will see without these massive shoulders. So, having basically pioneered a movement, in these times of recession chic, you can understand why Christophe Decarnin stuck to his guns when delivering basically the same thing again in his Fall 09 collection. It will keep his loyal followers happy, and perhaps even attract some new ones. SO Balmania will live on for yet another season.
