JIL SANDER Fall/Winter 09 is my favourite collection this fall and possibly ever. Raf Simons is my favourite designer for men and women. He has been for a little while, but this collection just does it for me. It just does. Like, really, I don't quite know what to do with myself. The 'little black dress' has been redefined so perfectly in this collection that pays homage to the workers of the atelier in Hamburg which has closed and is inspired by Pol Chambost (google him). I don't know, there is just something so amazing about how futuristic the collection is, yet it is still Jil Sander, still minimalist. It is futuristic, but it's grounded. The collection gives us glimpses of the future, but it keeps us in the present. You know? It is a genius at work to be perfectly honest. This is way too deep for me.
